It all depends on the tanning salon. Some salons have lay down beds and stand up ones where the stand up ones would be stronger. Other places like Hollywood Tans for example, only have stand up beds. They have 4 different strengths and UV levels in the stand ups there so the weakest one may be less strong then a powerful one at another salon. Your best bet would be to ask someone at the salon the difference between their beds.

Yes, bulbs are usually stonger and it gets more surface area that you do not get lying down.

You shouldnt use tanning booths at all
