Why doesn't the President name/describe the enemy in the war on terror? Who is the enemy?

We’ve all heard the President on so many occasions claim;

- That winning the war on terror is vital for the Middle East, the US and the rest of the world.

He has claimed to have a plan for victory.

Yet I’ve not heard/read about President Bush’s definition of who exactly is the enemy to be fought. He says words like “extremist”, and granted there are some very extreme people out there, but where does President Bush draw his line? A clear understanding of the enemy is a fundamental question for any battle plan.

Because they are a loose band of terrorist organizations that are from different countries and provinces that have a common goal of promoting a holy war on America and western civilization in general in the name of Islam. They do not fight for one particular country, nor do they wear any uniform of any particular group or nation. That is why the Geneva Conventions do not apply to them (the terrorist extemists). I think you have an oversimplified view of the situation.

One thing's for sure: the enemy is NOT "terror". Terror is an emotion. It's also not "terror-ism" either. Terrorism is a tactic.

Actually its we the usa is the enemy. We invade country after country and continue to stay in those countries. It is USA that trained the so-call terrorist in the aphgan war with russia (look it up). We put saddam in power, we supplied bin-ladden and trained him and his people, and again we created the teliban. The history is there for you to find it, little sad the media doesn't report it much. PBS and 60 minutes has shown some of it at least.
