i've just used clorox's bleach to clean my bathroom. as the bleach smell was too strong, i used lysol neutra air spray to cover the smell. after an hour, my bathroom smells disgusting: a mixture of dead fish and fried stuff. does anyone know what i can do to remove the odor?

You should never mix other products with bleach. It can actually chemically burn and cause damage through the fumes to your lungs.

You need to air out the smell with the window and the vent. Wash everything down once the chemical fumes have left the bathroom. Use a solution of baking soda and water. Or purex and water. Then do a clear rinse.

In the future do not clean your bathroom with bleach. Kaboom is a great bathroom cleaner. I used to use it all the time, we have 4 boys and 3 bathrooms.

Now I use a professional steam cleaner, it cleans well without the chemicals. It's not one of those little ones, which do work fine but I need long lasting steam without refilling since we have a large house. The great thing is no chemicals and it's all sanitized. I use it often instead of waiting for a big clean up. Keeping it clean more often is always less work in the long run.

Maybe your using too much bleach. Take a bucket a water add some pinesol and about four capfuls of clorox scrub everywhere with this solution. Make sure everything is sparkly clean and smells clean. Go to Yankee candle or a bath store and buy some smell good candles and inscents. Spray with air freshner. Buy new carpets, trash can, and shower curtains for the bathroom. When cleaning make sure you clean good! Ajax w/ bleach works great too. Or let the clorox sit for about a hour in your tub, toliet, and sink, then scrub and wrinse. Make sure to get around the toliet really good thats where alot of the odor maybe coming from! Mop the floor good! Good luck!

I've had bleach do that in my bath also, maybe not quite as bad, but the smell is not pleasant. I would suggest that you take a bucket of clear water and wipe down all the surfaces that you used the bleach on. Maybe wipe it down 2 or 3 times and see if that works. If not, Simple Green or Mr. Clean in a bucket of warm water and wiping down all the surfaces may help. The only place I use Clorox in my bathroom is the toilet. Other than that, I use the above cleaners just named.

just clean the whole room with straight lemon juice then use a basic bathroom cleaner from there on and the odor will leave. until then the lemon juice will kill all the bad odors and leave a citrus smell to the room which will make any locker room at least a bit more tollerant than sewer. cheers we used lemon juice in military it cheap and kills the bugs it almost straight acid sides it bleaches white concrete very cleaning. nothing bacteria related can live on acidic lemon juice it lasts long and comes in big bottles from costco big box store. it cheap and works for military applications then use a basic bathroom disinfectant with a mild cleaner in it industrial janitor supplies have some very enviromental friendsly products all of which are derrived from citrus now. cheers

first off air out the bathroom and turn the ventilation thing on. next do not use PURE bleach thats bad for you. try using a a solution of bleach and water.

Also before you do this go to target and buy their natural cleaners(they come in clear bottles and the label is very simple literally says natural cleaner), they have all different type of smells i reccomend the grapefruit one its the best one out of all of them in my opinion.

after you clean the bathroom with the soltion, spray it again with the cleaner and then wipe it down.

make sure you get corners of the floors (by hand) and you can also use the cleaner to clean the floor.

hope this helps

If you have a window in the bathroom definitely open it to let the air circulate.

If you dont then hopefully you have an exhaust fan that you can leave running with the door shut for an hour or so. Some febreeze air freshener and scented candles will help too.

Get Air freshener. Spray a whole lot into the batheroom, then shut the door and put a towel by the crack of the door. Then after an hour or so go in their and burn a candle. Then spray more air freshener. After doing that again scrub the toilet, shower, tub, faucet, mirrors, and anything else that can cause order. Repeat that method until it smells better

First of all, you should never mix chemicals, especially bleach and ANYTHING else. I would suggest opening up a window, let it air out for a while, then try something else, maybe some lemon juice and water in a spray bottle. Try flushing the toilet more often, sounds like the habit isn't there.

If you have an air vent from the bathroom, you may have mold and other "ickies" in the vent tube that are leaking the endless smells into the room. You would have to remove the vent cover and see if you get access to the vent line to detach it from the fan and inspect inside

Adding more crap to the air to eliminate a smell is usually a bad idea and has poor results. Ventilation or filtration works best. A candle (unscented) can work as an effective filter.
