I had this a few weeks ago. I felt like throwing up but was able to avoid it. The problem is that you need to keep your strength up, which means plenty of water (1-2 liters a day) and bread type foods (pretzels, bread, crackers, etc). Smaller portions might make things easier but in most cases whatever is causing it needs to come out either of the two ends. It would be much easier if it was your butt and not your mouth, so keep plenty of water in you to wash it out. If you are willing to try a medicine anyways, Imodium AD is over the counter and works well. You take 2 and then 1 after each next bout of Diarrhea. It combines with water to marke your bowel movements hard again. Another that helped me was Ranitidine (available at Sams Club) which is the active ingredient in over the counter Zantac. The nausea is probably there because you are eating much less then your body is used to, causing acid indigestion. Taking something like that would settle the stomache enough to keep food down.

drink a lot of water/juice. you can get dehydrated from the diarrhea so make sure to get fluids back in your system. You should go to the doctor and they will probably give you antibiotics if it is bad enough.

Start with bland foods first. Toast, saltine crackers. If you cant do that, stick with water. Gatorade is a good idea, even pedialyte.
