I have experience with freshwater fish and this problem completely baffles me. I have 2 rainbow sharks, 1 angel, and my tetra keep disappearing. I don't find them dead or sucked into the filter. Just completely gone. I've had this happen with lots of tetra. Currently there's a school of 7 or so that's survived. I just bought 8 neon tetra 3 days ago. After the 1st night there were 3 left. Now there's only 1. Please give me some idea what's happening to them. Thanks

First off I have to say that your tank is incredibly overstocked. Rainbow sharks need at least a 30 gallon tank and more than 1 in a tank is not reccommended because they are very territorial and will fight. They might not now, but they are generally tame in young age, then as they grow older and bigger they become very aggressive.

Angelfish grow quite large and no less than 30 gallons reccommended.

Hopefully your tank stocking is just a temporary thing.

Now I will answer your question. Angels are known for eating tetras. Neons are one of their main food sources in the wild. Your sharks are probably eating them as well.

The natural food for angel fish in the wild are ... guess what? Neon Tetras! Also, rainbow sharks are pretty aggressive and may be knocking off a few of them as well. Congrats your tetras are FOOD!

None of those fish are safe, those fish need 55 gallons+ and you should only have one shark per tank. And Rams with angels is not the best idea even then.

Rainbow sharks aren't real sharks...but, I've heard some wierd stories about Angelfishes and their evilness.

According to Wikipedia, angelfish are ambush predators and prey on small fish and macroinvertebrates.

I woud say that maybe one of the other fish is eating them, but I have had tetras before and the same thing happened. I never found out where they went, its strange.
