If you stay neutral throughout the divorce then yes. Explain to your sister as soon as possible that you would like to stay friends with her husband. Give your sister time to deal with all the mixed emotions she may be feeling and take it slow. I am still good friends with my brothers ex wife, though it can be sticky at times because they both like to use me to find out how the other is doing or whats going on in the other ones life... ect. Be clear to both that you will not be the middle man. Then again if the reasons for the divorce were due to his faults.. your sis may expect you to take her side in the matter. Just always remember that blood is thicker than water and you'll be fine.

As long as it doesn't hurt your sister with the friendship.
Divorces can be very painful and right now your sister needs you more than you need to be friends with her X.
I know a family that kept in touch with an X brother in law. They believed everything he said. Which hurt the sister and made the sister feel left out while her X lied and cheated. It took a few years for the Brother to see that his X brother in law was a lying JERK. By then the sister felt betrayed and hurt to the bone.
Sit back for a bit and see how things unfold. I wouldn't do anything that could hurt your sister. This doesn't mean you should be rude to her X. it just means if you chose to be with him during hoildays or trips this could really deeply hurt your sister.
Right now blood is thicker than inlaws........

Well, depends of why they are getting divorce for and what your sister thinks about it. Remember that family comes first. I don't really see nothing wrong with you talking to him, but as long as is not going to ruin your relationship with your sister. If they are getting divorce because he use to abuse your sister in anyway or any reason where your sister it's been harm, then obviously you wont have to talk to him. It's all common sense.

No. You don't have to be mean to him, but if you are freinds than he will be present in your life. You should put your sister first, her comfort first. After a divorce, do you think she's going to want to hang out with her ex at your backyard BBQ or at the big game or whatever? No. And how about when they both take new lovers? That will be unpleasant for sure. So, be nice, but keep your distance.

It is definitely alright to remain friends with your brother-in-law. It's your sister's relationship with him that is being severed; not yours. Just make sure to still be there for your sister for emotional support during this. And made sure to not be pulled into the middle of anything. But yes, there is nothing wrong with remaining friends.

Staying friends with your brother-in-law will definitely put a wedge in the relationship between you and your sister. She will expect loyalty from her family. I would suggest you ask >her< if she's okay with you remaining in good standing with the guy ...

It Depends on how Good Of A Relationship you Have With Your Sister. If You Guys Are Like Best Friends Then I would say It would be best not to really hang out with him. If You Guys dont really alk much then i would say its safe .
Much Luck♥

Yes it is. But, if your sister is uncomfortable with it reconsider the friendship. If your relationship with your sister is more important that your relationship with your brother in law, end the relationship if your sister is uncomfortable with it.

There are always two sides to a divorce....
