Hyacinth macaw.
The babies were $9000.00 this year.
I have raised Hyacinth macaws for over 22 years.

Any pet is expensive especially when they get sick. My most expensive pet has been a horse. The biggest expense though is not so much the cost, but the time spent with that pet. The return is that the love and comfort that you receive from the pet.

My cat, who was 'free' from the vet clinic where i work has been the most expensive so far. I have only ever owned guinea pigs, fish, and cats. But the kitty i have now has skin allergies, so the cost from the care and medications adds up.

A rabbit I rescued. She had maloccluded teeth and was prone to abcessing. With initial vet visits, the surgery to remove her incisors and then ongoing treatment for abscessing she ended up my $3000 rabbit!

By purchase price: Abyssinian cat
By maintenance: a Rottweiler pup I took in, knowing it had a bad heart defect.

I'd have to say my two cats (that I have now)...they have seen the doctor more times then I have. I spent $70 on one cat the last time I had to take my youngest cat to the vet.

2 great danes.
grew to 150lbs each and were the best dogs ever. Don't live long enough unfortunately.
