If you were just trying to get pregnant it would be suggested. Also, if you think you may be, or want to be, you should start taking folic acid as well. A baby needs this most towards the beginning of the pregnancy, many times before the mom knows she's pregnant.

Prenatal Vitamins? Yeah as a matter of fact they are great for your hair and nails. I always take them ... started after my hairdresser recommended and it did make my hair grow in fuller and my nails grow faster (took a couple of month before it was noticable)

If you're talking about prenatals, you can and should be taking them if you want to get pregnant. It's good to already have them in your system as soon as you conceive. One piece of advice: they make some people nauseated, so take them with a snack if they do. Good luck!

Sure, you can take them whenever you want. Over the counter generic ones are pretty much the same as the prescription and much cheaper. If nothing else they'll make your hair and nails grow really fast.

get the doctor's advice before you try to pop any pills into your system.
note: some pills can cause premature birth or miscarriages so be very careful unless its a normal calcium, multi vitamin or a primrose capsule.
