When you are a victim of abuse, who is there to help protect and prove to the courts what is really going on, if you don't have the money to investigate what needs to be done, and the threat was not physical, so you can't get a PFA. There are shelters and support groups and what not, but what happens when the financial lines are cut off and taken away, and your are not able to work do to health issues?

If you can't work, you should be able to get disability. If you can't get disability, then you should be able to work whether you think so or not. There should also be programs in your area for low cost/no cost counselling and support.

As A Domestic Violence Advocate, yes thier are agency to assist you before and after you have fled an abusive relationship. There are five types of abuse which consist of economical, emotional, financial, physical and sexual. To protect yourself, obtain a restraining order. If you are legally married, asked the courts for financial support (Spousal Support). My advice is to contact the bar association for referrals to consult with an attorney, or a domestic violence agency.

your local victims advocate. there is legal aid. if you have a doctor's statement saying that you can't work you could possibly get help through you dept. of health and human resources or if its permanent. try social security.

You can always go to the police and plead to get Protective Custody.
