2x^2-5x+7=3
2x^2-5x+4=0
x^2-5/2x+2=0
x^2-5/2x+?= -2+?
x^2-5/2x+((-5/2)/2))^2= -2+((-5/2)/2))^2
x^2-5/2x+25/16= -2+25/16
(x-5/4)^2= -7/16
x^2-5/4= ±√(-7/16)
x= ±√(-7/16)+5/4

x= (√(7)/4)i and -(√(7)/4)i

<=> 2x^2 - 5x + 4 = 0
<=> 2(x^2 - 5/2 + 2) = 0
<=> (x - 5/4)^2 + 7 / 16 = 0
<=> (x - 5/4)^2 = -7/16
this equation has no real root

subtract 3 from both sides

2x^2-5x+4=0

than

(2x-2)(x-2)

x = 1/2
and 2

x^2-2.5x+2=0
x^2-2.5x+1.5625=1.5625-2
(x-1.25)^2=-.4375
sq.root(x-1.25)^2=sq.root-.4375
x is a imaginary number
