There is no universal required reading for high school students, although you see a few titles almost everywhere:

Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye
Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird
Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men or The Pearl

It depends on the state and cirriculm. Romeo and Juliet, The Scarlet Letter, Beowulf, and Macbeth are common.

depend on the state and schools. my high school have different books requirements by grades.
