If a cash sweater was a $150 to begin with why would it go down to $40? Is it because they want to get rid of it, out of season, or was it $40 to begin with? Your thoughts?

Why do similar looking sweaters have very different prices? There are significant differences in the quality of cashmere, and therefore, the price of the fiber that can be used in a cashmere garment. There are variations in the fineness of the cashmere from various origins. There are also more subtle variations within origins. Finer cashmere is more expensive than coarser cashmere. Color also plays a role. The whiter, more expensive fiber needs less dye to color it. Dying harms the feel of the cashmere so this is important. Cashmere fiber is also priced by its length. Longer fiber is more expensive because it makes stronger yarn that pills less. All of these variables play a role in the cost variation between seemingly similar garments. Usually you get what you pay for

Ur gonna cut sleeves off a cashmere sweater!? If you didn't wear it last year, why do you think you'll wear it if it is a sweater vest? Anyway it'd probably unravel. I think you should just get rid of it or give it to someone.

Cashmere sweaters aren't cheap so I doubt it was originally $40. The place probably had a bulk of them and trying to get rid of them while it's after the holdays. =]

If its a really high quality cashmere it probably wouldn't go down that low in price, so its most likely a cheaper version of real cashmere...meaning it will probably pill faster.

It's going to be from their fall or winter line.

Whatever color it is, that color will be "out" in a month or so.

Look at it this way: they want to give that sweater to someone who will only waer it for a month, and for that, who wants to pay $150?

they want to get rid of it cuz thats wat happend to me in clothing stores or the other reason would be that the demand for cashmere sweaters is going down so less people want it and they mad it cheaper
