There is a study, believe it or not... It has something to do with the level of testosterone levels in the womb at different stages of development. It plays a part in many aspects of our masculinity and femininity. Check out this article: http://psychologytoday.com/articles/index.php?term=pto-3791.html&fromMod=popular
PBS did a show called "Brain Sex"... It outlined the same thing.

Did you mean: Is it true that if your ring finger is longer than your index finger it means that you are gay ? Speaking for myself, my ring finger is slightly longer than my index finger, and I am straight. Personally, I wouldn't use that system for an accurate way of figuring out whether someone is gay or not. Just ask them. Good Luck ! :)

Not true... I think that is just a myth or something. My best friend is gay, and he as well as his partner have the same normal fingers as everybody else- straight 1. His ring finger is shorter than his index finger.

No.
A similar superstition back in the middle ages about the length of the index and ring fingers was supposedly an indicator of who was doomed to become a vampire at death or most apt to become a werewolf.
There are no visible physiological indicators that indicate a person's sexual orientation.

No, it means you were were in a shop accident.
Actually, the myth is if your ring finger is longer than your INDEX finger.
I vaguely remember this suggested lower testerone levels in development.
Not gay. Just not a knuckle dragger.

which hand are you talking about? left or right? 'cause on my right hand, my index finger is longer than ring finger. On my left hand, they both are almost have the same length. I think it's definitely a myth...your sexual orientation doesn't have anything to do with your fingers. Gay or not, it's you that matters.

not at all, but there was a study done about relative finger lengths and endurance. scientists were able to predict who would win a foot race based on the longest ring fingers realtive to the index finger.

I never heard that before. I once heard that it meant you were royalty, but I also heard that about having one particular long toe...
I think I remember reading in some palm reading book that it meant something entirely different like you were sensitive, an artist or psychic. Who knows.
