this a question i hear people ask a lot
Why do they use little thin cardbord to protect light bolbs why not use like some foam stuff or those packing peanuts

Because thin cardboard does not adversely affect the lightbulbs and the foam stuff and packing peanuts builds up static cling in the bulbs and could make them blow when used!@~

I would guess those packaging materials cost more than the light bulbs cost to make.

Because light bulbs are so light weight, that's all the protection they need.

Cardboard is cheaper than foam, and is biodegradeable. Plus, if they break in your closet, you'll have to buy more!

It seems to be sufficient, I've never bought a broken lightbulb that I can remember.
