I have a Pioneer 301 cd player/holder. Recently alot but not all of the discs skip and yet they play fine in the car, on the computer, in the clock player etc. Also the player will sometimes read no disc when there is a disc loaded. Does anyone know why this is? I'm not very anxious to have to take them all out and reprogram the unit LOL ....

it's probably a problem with the laser's eye either not being clean or possibly being scratched. if i were you I'd clean it very gently with a soft cloth (dry) and if that doesn't work you'll more than likely have to send it back to the company for repairs.

if you know the CD is clean, clean the lens in the player that skips.

After that, some players are more forgiving than others whether it's because the laser and or lens is slightly different or what, I'm not sure.

some of that could be that it is just an old deck, possibly the unit canot pick up burnt Cd's as well. My stock player had this problem too, best idea if it gets worse is to just bag it and go down and get a cheep deck that works

Some Lenses are stronger than others. It could be that the disc is scratched, but the one CD player has a better/stronger lense than the other one...

My buddy had an identical situation. Are your headlights dimming while this occurs too? maximum probable it is because you have your subs under pressure out as much as the amp at an impedance point for which that's volatile, or susceptible at. possibly you have them under pressure out too extreme, and the amp is suffering to place out adequate wattage for them. My buddy's cd participant might end enjoying for a 2d or so and then initiate back till the heavy factors of the songs have been achieved.
