I cannot imagine a judge giving someone rights in that situation. That would be like rewarding a person for commiting a crime. He did not rape the girl so that he could have a child. I could not imagine him even wanting the child. God bless America, but any judge that grants anybody rights in this situation should be kicked out.

If you are speaking about yourself first let me say I am so sorry this happened to you. Rape is a horrible crime that only those of us who have survived it truly know what you have gone through.
If the rapist was convicted of your rape it is very easy to ensure he has no rights to the child. Even if he is in jail I would seek help from the courts to legally seperate him from his rights so that when he gets out of jail he doesn't cause problems.
If however he was not prosecuted or it was not reported it gets a little trickier but there are steps you can take to protect your child. The sooner you take action the better, otherwise the courts could think he has changed if time gets in the middle.
Contact a nonprofit rape victims support group. They can assist you in taking steps to terminate any rights this person tries to claim in regards to you child. You do not need to have his signature to proceed with this, the courts will assist the victim in this procedure. Your not the only one this has happened to so they are experienced in handling this sort of thing.
My friend whose parents would not let her press charges against her rapist when she was underage. They did however go through the courts and terminated his parental rights, a civil court also made him pay monthly damages (instead of child support this way he had no rights) so even though she didn't press charges she did ensure he had no rights to her child. She is now 24 her daughter is 8. Her daughter is just a great kid, does well in school, etc. In addition to terminating his rights they both have restraining orders to keep him away. They did move, the payments he must make come through an attorney, but they still wanted to ensure he does not try to come near either of them.
Even if he is in jail you want to take steps to protect you and your child especially since he won't be there forever.
Many of the rape survivor non profits have resources and referals they can help you with, they are experience in this area.
Personally I did not become pregnant as the result of my rape. I want you to know you can survive this, you can go on and live a happy life. Rape is usually never about sex, its about power. So, the most important thing is to do whatever you need to do with counseling etc to ensure that this person does not continue to have power over you, by effecting the rest of your life.
You are stronger than you can ever imagine. I have a happy family, a happy marriage and 4 wonderful sons. I refuse to allow my rapist to have any power over my everyday life.
I wish you all the best.

Thats put to a judge to decide. He can take her to court. Hes not likely to get rights to the child if he was charged and found guilty of the rape.

If the rape is reported then no. The courts will take them away. The dad will know about the baby but has absolutely no rights to it.

Any genetic father has parental rights until those rights are severed by the courts. Which is not always in the best interest of the child. Once the parental rights are severed the parent no longer has to pay support. Custody is a whole other issue.

This has happened before. He was granted visitation with the child and ordered to pay child support. Just because he's a criminal doesn't mean that his rights with his child are completely terminated. This guy spent a few years in jail, and then got visits. That poor woman!!

No. the paternal father will be sitting in jail as you give birth to your baby. It's morally wrong for the raper to get to see what him and the victim conceived. Sorry... Best of luck to you. Tell the police as soon as possible.

Not if she went to court and sued him for rape.
He forfits all parental rights and gets a one way ticket to jail.

I don't think so. He is a criminal. How can a guy who rapes a girl can become a father? That's just so wrong. He will in prison.
