Here is an easy answer. It is calle the Internet search page. Or there is a fine outstanding building with millions of books in it called a public library. Also at a more substantial cost is called a trip to the South such as South Carolina where the Civil War started. You can learn as much if not more than you need to learn by using any of the above mentioned means.
I spent 14 years in Charleston in the Navy and studied about the Civil War in all of my history classes including using the internet and the library in my research papers.
Try doing some research, you might find out it is actually fun to do and fun to learn something by doing it yourself. The others who answered also had to do their own work. This country was started and expanded by people who did their own share of the work without expecting others to do it for them.

The Federal Govt. raising taxes on Southern ports. (Tariffs)
The Industrialization of the North vs. the Agricultural South
The abolitionist views on slavery
The Fed. Govt. raised taxes/tariffs on Southern ports because the Southern part of the country was making much more profit due to a lower set tariff than the Northern ports had.
The Industrialization of the North caused the population of the North to no longer need slavery. The Northern states sold their slaves to Southern plantations when they saw this coming because they knew it was just a matter of time before slavery would end..
When 1862 rolled around and the North was being beaten badly in the East, the North needed a 'rallying cry'. After the Battle of Sharpsburg/Antietam, MD (which was technically a draw), Lincoln chose this 'victory' as a launching point for his Emancipation Proclamation. Without this proclamation, Northern interest in the war would have declined to the point of severe rioting, etc.

well, one is the last north stronghold in the south, ft.sumter. what happened was the north said,'oh ****, we got a fort down there. we better send some supplies in case we have to hold out for a while'. so that's what they did. and the south said,'holy crap, the north must be sending reinforcements! we should fire upon the fort!" and they did. so that started the civil war, since the north was just waiting for a chance to fight the south, but didn't want to be the first to fire, since that would make the north look bad.

Unfair taxation, biased legislation and the economy. You take it from there.
The French played a major role in getting that conflict fired up too.
Whoever still insists the Civil War was a slavery issue is an uninformed idiot who has never cracked open an unbiased history book.

1. the north side thought slavery was bad, while the south thought slavery was good, because they used them for the crops, like cotton and whatnot. their conflict was only the first.
2. when lincoln was elected, he was very anti-slavery. bad for south, edging them toward breaking off from the US and forming their own union.
