...and do you think it will make it through?

Wow! Once again, love for party outweighed love for doing the right thing in some of the responses. How someone could say this is NOT a good idea is amazing simply because the Dems did it.

If Repubs did it the nay sayers would be all for it.

Is Hastert a Dem as according to a response below?

Why wouldn't anyone not be impressd with a bill that is designed to stop criminals from getting tax money pensions?

Have we gotten so stupid in this country that we don't even realise when we're getting a cookie?

considering Hastings and Jefferson are still part of the dem party I dont see how they can vote for it how bout you. hey Im a stupid conservative remember you get the point. both sides say stop illegal immigration but dont, both sides say campaign finance reform but they dont, both sides say curb lobbying but they dont. both sides say stop coruption but they dont. if everyones involved in it why would they stop it. I will believe it when I see it.

Yes, I'm very impressed by what the democrats are proposing, but I think republicans will do everything they can to scuttle it since they are the ones that would be most affected by it.

I haven't read the bill but the idea of it sounds very good to me. I would like it to be retroactive.

Is it retroactive legislation? If so, all the politicians better be concerned.

Sounds like a typical liberal dimocrit screw up. All that will do is force them into crime to survive, if they ever got out of crime, that is. It should die on the floor.
