Hi: It surprised me that he seemed so unconcerned about clock management and smart use of time-outs. It was kind of like...
"those things really don't win you ball games." The "let's go on 4th" instead of a field goal attempt to take the first lead was also
somewhat irratic. Coach S really seemed to think his team
was destined and could win it any number of ways, almost like
Phil on the 72nd Tee Box of a Major needing only a bogey to
"not lose." At least Phil recognized and learned that poor
managenet effects outcomes.

Marty made some bad decisions, but he didn't choke. He shouldn't have gone on 4th and 11 in the first quarter. He shouldn't have challenged the play in the 4th quarter - that cost him a valuable time out and the play wasn't even questionable. The Patriots were the better team, outplayed the Chargers in crunch time. That's the poise of the championship team with battle tested veterans beating a young inexperienced team. Marty has to take the blame as head coach. He didn't choke but he was outcoached.

Marty did not coach this game well at all.
If you have someone like L.T., you give him the ball and let him run wild. The fact that Marty allowed Rivers to throw this much was idiotic. Also, his receivers seemed to have developed a serious case of butterfingers since they couldn't hold onto the ball when they needed to. Plus, calling a challenge for the fumble was beyond moronic. He should have let it be and kept the time out for the final drive which would've given Kaeding a better shot at the field goal.
Marty did yesterday what Martz did in the Super Bowl that the Patriots were unable to do ... he killed his own superior running game and gave the victory to Belichick.

No every team has a plan and if mistakes are made at the right time it can be costly, The team played the game the coaches called it so I see it as a team effort, I'm a Saints fan and was hoping they would have won, I never for one moment thought NE would had won

No way...look at the dropped passes and turnovers. Marty has no control over that.

Eh, I wasn't too impressed by the playcalling, but that wasn't all his fault. Going for it first quarter, 4th and 11, that was stupid. I think the players lost the game for them, though. Schottie deserves some blame, but not all of it. The fumbles, the stupid penalties, that wasnt his fault.
