I dont think its a big deal but i just want to figure it out. I recently had surgery that left me off of my feet for a few weeks, and now my lower leg hurts deep in the muscle. When i lay down sometimes it hurts so bad i cant even stand it. When it starts to hurt sometimes my foot goes numb, not for very long though. Its like a dull throbbing feeling down in the muscle. Also, sometimes my knee hurts to. It doesnt always happen when im laying down, sometimes when im up on my feet at work it hurts so bad i feel like i'm gonna fall down. Any ideas???

I had it a little before my surgery which was the 28th of December. I've always had trouble with my knee but it seems the pain is going down.

You should see your physician ASAP. It sounds like you are having symptoms of a DVT ( Deep Vein Thrombosis), this could be very serious problem. Until you see your Physician, a DVT can't be ruled out. DO NOT have your legs massaged until a DVT has been ruled out, as this could release the clot, and cause life threating complications.

See link below, and above all go see your Doctor ASAP.

I'm gunna say I don't think it's a blood clot since you had it before surgery. I think it's possible that your muscles are cramping up and cutting off blood flow. Maybe a professional massage can help you. Even better a massage therepist, paid for by insurance.

don't take any chances.you only get one set of legs in a life time so call the doctor.just a piece of advise, this is not the place to get help on something like that .any reply you get from this site would only be a guess.most of us out here are not doctors and even if we were we couldn't tell you any deffinite unless we examined you.so take my advise see a real doctor.best of luck to you and i hope everything works out and nothing is seriously wrong. pete

How long has this been going on, when was your surgery? I would call your DR ASAP!! Call his / her after service tonight and they will contact him / her.

You never know what it could be.

I think if I were in that much pain, I'd go to see my doctor - you should too!
