High concentrations of Dawn mixed with water will kill Box Elder Beetles, most flying things and some of the smaller ants and is biodegradable. (Also get oil out of radiators and Carhart jackets.)

You can put some dishsoap in a spray bottle, just about a tablespoon in a quart of water. Shake, spray the leaves and you should be bug free. This also works on your lawn for box elder bugs and those japanese beetles.

All you need to do is wash them with a mixture of dishsoap and water. Rinse and dry.

vinegar water in spay bottle. Also works on dogs or cats with fleas. When it dries you dont smell it any more
