I need to make some DVD labels. What is some good, free label-making software. Also, if I absolutely had to buy it, what purchased software should I use.

If you have Microsoft Word, you can use their templates based on what kind of labels you have (like Avery, etc.). I believe there are downloadable templates off Avery's website too.

A good label system is CD Stomper. You can get it at any office supply store. They have a starter pack which comes with a little device to put the label on the disc easier than trying it by hand. It's about $22. Check it out: http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StaplesProductDisplay?prodCatType=0&storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&productId=15039&cmArea=SEARCH.

What's wrong with writing the labels on regular paper in pen, cutting them out with scissors and taping them down on the tubes? All you need is something to identify the color. I'd add a drop of color on either the label or the top of the container so you can visually see the tint as well.
