OR... how about a single major of Music Education.

I was a music ed. major myself for a while. Good major.

I would think a double major. Music and education.

liberal arts with strengths in music
I would go to your local university to see what they have for what it takes to have a teachers credentials then a go from there
each state is different and so is each country
