i have to look out the window. i hate long car rides.

Yes, i read in the car all the time in the car and i have for long periods of time and i never got sick. Must depend on the person.

I used to be able to, but soon after I turned 15 I would start getting headaches and feeling queasy. Now I can't even read simple directions to someones house without feeling sick.

hahaa. Yeah personally I often get sick when reading in a car.
This happens because when reading the book, your eyes are telling your brain that you're not in motion, yet your other senses (particularly your inner ear) are telling your brain that you are in motion. For more details you can do a search, but these mixed signals are basically what cause you to get sick. Closing your eyes usually helps.

I can read for about 10-20 minutes but then I start feeling sick and dizzy.

i get car sick all the time. i cant even look at the back of the car while my husband is driving if one of my kids want me to look at something i cant, i get sick immediately

Nope!
My sister and I are the carsick-queens!!!
And believe me, they say to watch things outside because your body feels like it is not moving, but that make s me sick even quicker.
Sure, I'd like to be able to read the billboards without barfing, but that just doesn't work!!!
Dramamine, mountain dew, and ice chips are a NECESSITY for me in the car!!!!

nope, sometimes I wanna put my makeup in the car b4 school and I get sooooo sick, or with curves, or when I'm... well just whe I'm doing stuff that doesn't suposed to do it in the car, good ting in not driving!!! lol

I just bought a couple cookbooks before and attempted to read while my husband drove home. Bad idea! Got light headed.
