LACTOSE && POLO RALPH LAUREN: More matureer in a way. More for older people. I mean you really wouldnt see high schoolers wearing this stuff.
A&F && HOLLiSTER: Mature. But not as much as the other pair. For the jocks or other guys who dont wear etnies or nikes.

Lacoste & Polo set the bar for preppy fashion way back in the late 1970s and early 1980s. They are the pioneer of that look. A&F and hollister are merely copycats of an older generation. My main irritation with the later two stores is that they do not make them in large enough sizes for the average american woman who is 5'4" tall and a size 14. So I do not bother to shop there.
I can walk into any department store in america, find a ralph lauren polo shirt.
I have walked through both A&F and Hollister and I can never find anything larger than a size 10 in those stores. I also find their quality to be a bit on the poor side. And completely geared towards the teenage crowd. As a 31 year old woman, I find their clothing completely inappropriate for even my wine country napa casual environment. So I don't bother.

Lacoste & Polo are MUCH better quality...I don't own any Abercrombie or Hollister but I have quite a few products from American Eagle...and to my knowledge, AE is similar to A&F.
Anyway, Lacoste & Polo (especially Lacoste polos) look a lot better than AE ones...I mean, you get what you pay for.

lacoste and polo ralph lauren are designer. so i like how everything is really high quality. both styles are really preppy like country club preppy but you can dress and match it up with accessories. sometimes it's worth the splurge. but at the same time, it can be a bit pricy
hollister and A&F are definitely a cheaper way to go than designer. they have really up to date clothes although the quality won't always be great. they have cute clothes that students and casual goers like to wear.

For Guys:
Lacoste, RL-Classy
A&F, Hollister-Preppy and a little unkept and when guys buy them too small they look kinda gay.
For girls, like me I like American Eagle ones and they fit comfortable but are kinda big and loose [even if i get a sz small, and no Im not a skinny anorexic girl]
