You need a bachelor's degree. This typically takes 4 years.

Law school normally takes another 3 years (4 for the night programs).

You can apply for a DA job after that. County DA jobs are the easiest prosecuting jobs to get. City attorneys are easier if there is one in your area.

Interning during law school is the easiest way to get your foot in the door and a job with them right after law school.

I have a friend who attended 4 years of college and majored in mass communication and went on to law school and it will take 3 years to finish.

prosecuting lawyers usually have to do clerking before they get hired to do prosecutions. so although you go to school for 6-7 years, you can't just waltz into a prosecutor job..

7... 4 years of pre-law, 3 years of law school, then you can go into whatever type of law you want.
