The question you're asking is can you live with defying your own honor.
The answer is yes, if you're willing to change, and stop believing in the things that you hold so dear. Because if it is a life or death situation, your honor is not true if you choose life.
The answer is no, if you truly believe what it is you are fighting for, You would never be able to live with yourself and end up taking your own life to prove it.
My question is this, What is that you are honoring that has/can put you in a life or death situation?? Is it truly worth honoring??
I Honor my parents, and would die for them gratfully.
I Honor my family, and would die for them gratfully.
I Honor my country, and would die for it gratfully.
I Honor my president..........But if it was me or him, that SOB is dead.

i would say about evens;that is,50/50.
And, i would also submit that it is better to Live for ones
Honour(than to Die for it); but only as long as it is a good
honour(and not a bad or evil one).

Honour is not a thing. You live in honour. It is part of you. To lose your honour would be like a death to who you are. I would never want any one to die but losing your honour would make life much tougher.

When it's merely a matter of honour (which isn't easily defined or identified by people) - it's ALWAYS best to defend your honour by running away so it can be kept nice and safe for another day.
That is, let the attacker to your honour know you are spineless enough to be enjoyed a second time for their ridicule and offence..
Then plan your strategy for running away quicker, better and far more efficiently than the first time you were 'caught out' by such heinous and disrespectful beasts.
'Cos that's all they are.......

I think there is something called, live with Honor and nt live for. As for the question of dieing for honor, it would depend on situation for anyone. Noone can take an uninformed decision. i.e. would you choose to die for your country? vs. would you choose to die for honors sake if you were caught stealing/sholifting etc..

Depends on what honor means to you. Live with it and die for it. If something means so much to you that you would die just to protect it, then that is dying for honor. Other wise live in a way that brings you honor. Cherish what you have, and live well.

As the little Italian man in Catch 22 used to say:
It's better to live on your knees than die on your feet.

Live for it long enough to pass on your ideals. Die for it when youre ready to do so.
