Is it likely that into todays world that we'll face a nation or nations that will make an attempt to conquer the world or is it more likely that we'll be facing large scale regional conflicts?

I've actually heard an arguement that the Cold War was WWIII even though there was no official declaration of war.
Regardless, I do believe there will be a 3rd WW and I see it being more of a war of customs and beliefs rather than a conquer-type situation.

It's not only possible, its probable. In view of the aging Russian early warning systems, a nuclear war could happen at any time. You hear of all the talk about Iran and terrorists getting ahold of A nuke. Little is heard about the two bulls in the glass shop.
The arsenals of the US and Russia are the scary scenarios when you're talking nuclear war. Not so much the US causing it, but mainly from an accidental launch by the Russians thinking that NATO or the US launched against them. It nearly happened in 1995, when the Russian 'suitcase' with the launch codes was activated for the first time in history....and this was in the POST-Cold War!!!

It is very likely, It will probably the United States versus the rest of the world and a civil war in the United States. Unless things change the worlds' animosity with my country and my countrys' animosity towards the world will keep us on a sure course for a Third World War.

WWIII must be 28 minutes from now or 280 years from now. the skill of an unintentional nuclear launch between the US, Russia and China is a miles better risk to worldwide peace than the middle jap rump states' strikes. The superpowers are elephants in a tumbler keep and no person seems to care. The strikes of NorKor and Iran heavily isn't WWIII, if something, they are going to be on par with the Korean conflict 1950-fifty 3 or the Vietnam conflict....purely a community conflict between proxy enemies....

Certainly, especially If the USA and its allies dont stop throwing thier weight around all over the world it will only be a matter of time before they either tread on the toes of someone who can and will fight back (Russia and China for example) or they will spread themselves so thin that once they start to lose the other smaller states will dive on in and attack.... lets hope Mad King George wont start flinging the nukes around.

with all the conflicts
in Middle East, it's just
a matter of time before
other Super Powers
(China & Russia) side
with radical Islamists
against Israel & U.S.
I would say within the
next 5 years it could be
the beginning of WW3
