The truth is if you read and write something twelve times you will remember it forever. So write down the name and definition twelve times each and you will pass the quiz/test.

do you have someone that can quiz you? If they keep asking over and over, and you really dig in your brain every time, it works. Also, try relating the definition and the word together. Here are some used in a sentence.

articulate
timorous
pretentious - think of an arrogant person, so pretentious
inquisitive -in quissssss. quizzing you
intriguing - her eyes were so intriguing, I wanted to kiss her.
disregarded - the evidence was disregarded because it was tampered with.
exasperated - I was exasperated after hearing the news.
controversial - eminem used to be controversial, not so much now.
idiomatic
vehement
apathetic
detrimental - smoking is detrimental to your health.
gradual - the growth of the company was gradual.
effusive -
unprecedented -
revoked - my lisence was revoked because I had too many tickets
bewildered
skeptical - I was skeptical about the job because it asked for money up front.
constraints - I have money constraints so I can't go on my trip.
fluent - I am fluent in English and Spanish.
monosyllabic
profound - It was a profound smell

Make up a ridiculous song with the words being said to the beat of your favorite song. Have someone quiz you, say the words and the definitions over and over the key is to be repetitive. DO it over and over again Good Luck

what helped me remember and memorize definition are the key words in the definition and also believe or not I would put them to music and sometimes come up with a rap and also I would put the definitions into terms in my own words so it would be easy for me to understand. repetition also helps.

When I was in high school, we had vocabulary tests every week in English class. This girl friend of mine and I would get together and quiz each other over and over again until we had the definitions down. Remember this quote: "Repitition is the mother of skill." Repeat this enough times and you will remember it.

You will find it easier if you try to understand the definitions first. You will find different definitions in different dictionaries.
