first off, my doc told me it takes 3 months for your body to get used to the pill and that i should use other forms of protection for at least 3 months. so that's where you made your first mistake. second, i've been on the pill for about 7-8 months now because of irregular periods and i never start my period on the same day of my white pills. sometimes it's the 2nd day, sometimes it's the 4th. once i didn't even start til my second pill of my next pack. and i wasn't pregnant. so yes it's ok to be irregular for the first few months, but it's not ok to be having sex without condoms. the pill isn't 100% protective so you should ALWAYS used a condom too. even if you've been on the pill for 5 years. i'm not sure if the pill will cause a miscarriage if you are pregnant, but it's not very good for you or the baby. if you don't start your period in the next 3 or 4 days call your doc for a pregnancy test or go to the store and buy one.

It's completely normal to be irregular when you are on the pill. Just because you are on the white pills doesn't mean you'll get the period right away. For me I have to wait for at least 2 days before I get my period.
It's also not unheard of to miss your period the first few months you're on the pill.
The pill will NOT cause you to miscarry. The pill pumps you full of hormones that fools your body to think you are pregnant. It's not known to cause birth defects or cause a miscarriage.
Don't stop taking the pill right now. Even if you are pregnant, taking the pill for a little bit before you know for sure will NOT DO ANY HARM! I was told by my doctor to take a test but not worry until it comes up positive, which is doubtful. She told me a story of a woman who took the pilll for 6 months before she took the test.

You are most likely NOT pregnant. Most women don't get their period the first day of the white pills (I don't usually start until the end of the week). It only takes about a week for the pill to take affect, but doctors will tell you 1-3 months to be safe. Unless you have missed any pills, you should be fine. Wait a week, and if you haven't gotten your period, take a test.

Irregular or not, the first concern is wether you are pregnant or not. Even if you are not sure you should stop taking the pill inmediately and visit a doctor. You dont get your period the same day you start using the placebos (white pills) it sometimes take a couple of days but still, you should go to the doctor. You dont state wether you are married or not, but oral contraceptives are NOT protection against sexually transmited diseases, much less aids. Birth control of course is hazzardous for the fetus because it alters your hormones and tricks the body into thinking you are pregnant, hence the lack of menstruation, but if you think you are pregnant then, again, stop the medication and get a pregnancy test. Otherwise good luck and if you have any other concerns about birth control sit bith your ob-gyn and ask away.

Sometimes it takes longer for than 2 months to get your body on a 'normal' schedule. But if you are late then take a test as soon as possible and go from there. If it says no, then i would continue taking pills..your booklet in birth control pills tell you that you could even skip a period

umm...for the first month on the pill you can still be irregular, but after that is is pretty set. Take a home test and then have protected sex. As for miscarriages I don't think the pill will do that.

For the first couple of months it still is common to have irregular periods but if you think you might be pregnant, take a pregnancy test and if positive go to the doctors and make sure.

Yes, you will have a miscarriage if you keep taking the pill. The first thing you need to do is call the doc or an ER nurse, or a planned parenthood clinic and ask them what you should do and then do it.
