My husband says no. It's just a woman's holiday and he doesn't ever want me to buy him anything. Do other people feel that way, too?

That's the first I've ever heard that! It's a holiday for giving gifts to people you love, so anyone can give gifts to anybody, just like at Christmas. Maybe your husband just thinks it's too mushy-sweet-silly for him, or else he just has a problem accepting gifts.

No. The holiday is about love, not about just celebrating a woman or women. I just think that the couple celebrating should pick a big present for each other and give little gifts on the day or something like that.

Why not. I give gifts to my husband whenever I feel like it. Remember, giving gifts means that you took time to think about the person, choose a gift and buy/create it for the person. I still believe in the old saying... "It's the thought that counts."

Yes I do think its nice for a woman to give a gift to her husband or boyfriend. I don't think its a big deal if she doesn't. I feel just the fact you are with her is gift in itself.

If he says this to you then just say okay but suprise him by bying him something. Its should be both cause its fair.A man should buy a gift for a woman and a woman should buy a gift for a man it doesn't have to be expensive its shows how they love each other.

NO
It's a day to show your love for someone. This doesn't have to be with the expense of a gift. You can show it in other ways. It's a fun day to share with someone you love. How you do that is up to your imagination but it doesn't have to be about buying someone something. The shops make it commercial because it's there job to make a profit and they'll find reason in everything. It's up to us to find romance in it.
If you love him you should show it.

Valentine's Day is for BOTH partners to show their love, not just the man, so go ahead and get him something nice! If he doesn't appreciate it, tell him all about the St. Valentine's Day Massacre.
