I thought my pen was a dry erase marker but apparently not!

Hi ...

This is an easy one! Take a new dry erase marker of the same color... write over the permanent marker and let it dry for 15-20 seconds. Erase it.

You may need to repeat but it should work.

Once it is off.. you might want to give your board a good cleaning before you start to write on it. Take a solution of 50/50 water and alcohol (household rubbing alcohol will work). Spritz the board and give it a good cleaning with a soft cloth like a face cloth. Nothing harsh or abrasive. Rinse well with water and then dry with a soft cloth. Make sure the board is completely dry before you start to write on it.

You may also want to use only black markers... did you know that black markers always erase the best... then blue, then green then the red?

Never use abrasive products and never, never use nail polish remover on a whiteboard. It will ruin the surface for good.

Good Luck
Me : )

Try writing over it with a dry erase marker then erase like normal. This works most of the time.

go over the permanent marker with the dry erase marker and remarkably it should come off.

Try using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It may not completely erase it, but it will make the mark light enough that you will again be able to use your board.

Use rubbing alcohol and a soft rag that won't scratch the board.

It takes a bit of scrubbing, but it'll come off.

Anything that is tough enough to take off permanent marker will definitely ruin your board. I think you are out of luck...

Hi,
A cloth saturated with denatured alcohol should work or lacquer thinner should cut it quickly and dry clean and residue free.
Hope this helps,
Dave

I think paint thinner might do it. Try just a little bit, and be careful. Fumes are strong and overpowering!
