Heres the secrets to my successes. Usually the goal is to have this ticket reduced by the officer to something other than speeding, which usually incurs points, high fines and possibly higher insurance rates. The way to get this done is by going to court, not to "fight" it but to negotiate an agreement.
Rule # 1, and this is after the fact, but ALWAYS be COOL when you are pulled over for anything. Make it easy for them to forget you. These guys deal with ******* every day, and if you give them a hard time they will remember you, and it will be much harder to ever negotiate anything. Take your ticket and pay the fine. Than go to court.
Rule #2, ALWAYS go to court. The #1 reason for this is because, however unlikely, the officer may not show. If he does not, you win by default and it is instantly dismissed and they will send you your money back. If the officer shows, than usually they will talk to you briefly before you go in, I have always had my tickets reduced to something other than outright speeding...maybe something like 'driving too fast for conditions.'
It carries a lesser fine, no points, and your insurance company wont find out. So I end up getting some of my fine $$ back and no one is the wiser. It keeps your record clean too, which is also important by the way. If you have a bad driving record, they are going to be much less inclined to cut you a deal.
Good luck, and play it cool!

Ask to see the last calibration certification on the radar gun used against you. If it is more than a year old (or more likely lost or never done) you may be able to argue that the gun showed the wrong speed. However if you were doing like 65 in a 20 zone, it's not going to work.

Also you could hope the arresting officer has better things to do than show up in court.

it all depends on the circumstances. if you were speeding, even 2 miles over, with no real reason...you dont have much to fight for. even though it was 2 miles, its still the law. if it was for a reason like a life or death situation or something like that you have a chance of fighting against it. otherwise i think id probably be best to just take the fine.

pretty much it is your word against his or hers i got a ticket for speeding years ago and i went to court a fought it and won but usually the cops cars locks your speed in on his radar but try to fight it anyway if u can prove your case like i did.

Fight it!
But you need proof like
Radar Gun- was it in a turn? The operational degrees of which the unit works
Speeding- Safe and just speed
Get a book on how to fight a ticket... it works believe me!

Hope this helps

On what grounds would you fight it? You can absolutely plead not guilty, but without a REASON to dispute it, the prosecution will likely be able to prove their case.

You can choose to fight it, but I don't know what your chances are...it depends on where you live and what you did/didn't do. Here is a website that may be able to help you, though:
