This question has been burning in my mind for a while. Marvel Comic fanatics, I mean no disrespect by this question. It is something that has been genuinely on my mind since seeing the first two movies. DON'T BE INSULTED. THIS IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY.
When spiders spin their webs, the web comes out of the tip of their thorax. When Spiderman spins a web, it comes out of his wrists. To be anatomically correct, shouldn't the web come out of his butt?

It's all for the purpose of the movie. In the comics, spidey makes his webbing and the dispencer. The webbing being part of the mutation is purely for the movie.

There are a lot of guys out there who like Spider Man’s butt, and they especially like to see him hanging upside down with his legs wide open. However, long ago, Marvel made an official decision that they did not want to pander to that crowd by making Spider Man’s webs come out of glands near his fanny, even if it was what (some) readers demanded.
Bravo Marvel, on being willing to take a stand, even against political correctness!

They are keeping with the canon of the Spiderman comics that had the web come out of Spiderman's wrists. Also, when the comic was first created, I believe that he created webshooting weapons to fit with the idea of Spiderman as his alter-ego. Now, it has been changed for him to actually be able to shoot webs from his wrists.
However, I wouldn't mind seeing Toby McQuire shoot web out of his butt. I happen to think he has a very nice ***. *wink*
