I interviewed for a cashier job at Target today and was basically hired, but have to take a drug test tomorrow before 12 p.m. (which I'll pass). The thing is, I have no intention of staying at Target. I don't want my college degree to go to waste, but I needed something to pay the bills while I'm interviewing for jobs related to my degree. If you've worked at Target before, do you have the same days off each week? I want to schedule my interviews for the other companies during days off without Target knowing about it.

Target, just like every other retailer, works you whenever they feel like it. I worked there in my teen years. Some weeks it was 35 hours, the next week it was 12. What a pain in the butt! Enjoy being there and know that you can take the time to be picky abouty the next job you pick :-)

I worked at Target down in FL and the schedule was different every week, but you get the schedule 2 weeks in advance.

It does sound he had it in for you. But on one hand your touting your experience at Target and on the other you make a point of saying that you just completed training like he should give you a break because of that. He may have been less tolerant of you because you were supposed to be experienced but he should have just given you a warning since you just started.

they don't give you the same days off every week.

you give them your availability and they will work around that. so, if you want to schedule interviews, set aside one day a week. this way you know you will always have that day off and you can schedule interviews for that day. if the potential job can't do it on that day, call out sick. after all, you're trying to move on to bigger and better things.
