As we age, our nerve endings and nerves become less sensitive. They are shrinking, like the rest of our bodies as we age.

Great question, Michelle!

What does older mean to you? My wife and and I are in our late 50's, and I promise you she is just as ticklish as the day I married her 32 years ago.

So, I can safely say that where we are concerned ticklishness has not declined one iota.

And as for all your responders who say things like "You just get less sensitive when you get older..." Piffle!

HTH

Actually we're still ticklish, just not as sensitive. When we get older we can control the sensation but we still get tickled.:)

that really hasn't happened to me. If anything, I've gotten more ticklish as I've gotten older.

It's like wating your favorite ice cream. If you do it enough your enjoyment of it goes down. Just find different ticklish places.
