They will still show up positive but not as dark. After a certain week you make less of the hormone. I have never had one come up positive either... well except at 34 weeks and that was barely. (It was an April Fools Day joke for a friends hubby!)

I don't think it's true, unless your placenta is already mature or something, just when your baby is ready to delivery, so your levels of HCG (that's the hormone that the home tests measure to give a result), in your blood would be lower, giving a negative result....
What is strange is that you have never had a positive and you are on your 31 week?! Maybe you should change brands, and be sure they are not expired.

Will HPT's stop working after a certain point in pregnancy? Nope. HPT's will continue turning positive during your entire pregnancy, and can actually stay positive for up to 6 weeks following a full-term birth (due to residual hCG in your system.) Pregnancies that end early may also result in leftover hCG in your system, but it depends how far along you were and how much hCG had been in your body at the time.

i have not heard this but i would say no because it looks for the pregnancy hormone and this shouldnt just go away while your pregnant. I cant say for 100% though.
