Great book. Instead of burning books, he begins to understand why the government wants to keep people from reading them.. because they open people's minds & allow them to make their own INDIVIDUAL judgements & decisions. He begins to think for himself & realizes the environment he lives in, especially the cut-off relationship he shares with his wife, is incredibly cold, & lifeless.

Normally, I'd tell you to do your own homework, but I just had to read this terrible book too and therefore can symphathize. He startes out a brainwashed slave of the system, doing what he is told without thinking about it. As the book progresses he startes to think for himself, with more and more repercussions.
