You should read books of all kinds to be well rounded and cultured. Non-fiction, prose, poetry, biography, etc.
Some of the greatest novels are:
Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad
The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner
Ulysses by James Joyce
You should look at the "Modern Library" publications really.
Happy reading.

I don't know what kind of books you like to read. I can, however, give you some good ones I've read lately. The Time Travelers Wife., Singing My Hymn Song, and The Ghost of the Cavalier, which I really liked. The first is a science fantasy, the second is an autobiography, and the third is a mystery. Then there's The History of the English Speaking People vol. 2 by Sir Winston Churchill. That, of course is a history, but not boring and dry. If I knew what you liked to read I might have better suggestions. If you want e-mail me and let me know what you prefer to read.

The Sight, Firebringer, East, The Book of the Dead (the really huge novel, not the actual Egyptian book!) The Keys to the Kingdom Series, Golden Compass Series, Warriors series, Five People You Meet in Heaven
Those are all novels, some are for all ages and some are for teens/young adults. They're really good though. =)

Hmm. I have read all of the Harry Potter books. Good series. Also, The Artemis Fowl series is very good and new books are still being released in it. Maybe try the Shadow Children series? Super good. Any of those three are amazing. I would recommend you read all of them! The Harry Potter books are written by J.K. Rowling The Artemis Fowl books are written by Eion Colfer (I think thats how you spell Eion) And the Shadow Children series is by Margaret Peterson Haddix. :)
