My best friend and I (we're both 25) would like to take a trip this fall, but are undecided at the moment as of where to go. International, within the US, doesn't matter. We would like to stay under $2,000 if possible, and would travel for about a week. Any suggestions?

Would we be spending around $2,000 each. Sorry I didn't clarify that.

Have you considered going on a tour, perhaps in Europe? Since you're 25, Contiki Holidays might be a good option for you. They specifically have vacations for people 18-35 years old. Check out they're website to get a better idea about what they do www.contiki.com . If you pick out a European tour now, you'll know exactly how much it will cost and there will be no surprises along the way. I went on a 14 day tour through Europe and hit up London, Paris, Switzerland, Austria, Venice, Florence, and Rome, and it was about $1400, plus airfare to London, and that'd be about $2000. I had a ton of fun, met a ton of great people, and really got to experience some new countries that I probably wouldn't have on my own. If you have any questions about my trip feel free to send me an email at kbroder86@yahoo.com. Have fun traveling!

Make a road trip across the U.S.! It would be fun and it would be an incredible experience. Make a purpose too. Whether it's to become closer or to help the environment or something, it really adds alot to a vacation!
Then again, international experience would be fun too while your both young. Go backpacking through Europe.
Find out what you both are really interested in and go from there. And primarily have fun and take advantage of every moment! Be creative with your days. . .

That is not a lot of money for the two of you for a week. However, look at the national parks and their lodging, consider staying a Super 8's and Red Roof Inns. We like the Smokey Mountains.
