Well it took a long time, but many years after the death of my precious baby boy, I do not wish to change things because now my daughter is here and she was also meant to be.

I learned once that everything was impermanent. First it was told to me. Then I gradually began to see it on my own. Nothing is meant to last so we have to take each moment for what it has to offer us. There truly is no time real other than this moment. Past and future are both ideas. And as real as they may seem, now will be ever present. I believe if you take each moment a step at a time and truly realize and accept the impermanence of all things, you won't have much of a problem letting go of basically anything.

my ex an I were together from November to March. I realized and joke about her being my "shortest days" girl as this is the time of Autumn and Winter where the days are short but the nights....hehehe were so long. I still to this day haven't completly gotten over her and it's been a year. Oh well.

As they say , in the eastern Philosophy, YOU came alone into this world and YOU shall leave this world alone. In between you are witnessing only the drama of life unfolding before you. You watch one player come and act and then another and then , yet , another.
Sometimes you get so engrossed in the Play that you fantasize and menatlly or dreamily, you start to act out yourself.
You can visualise this yourself if you can go back in time and you were clinging to your mother , for life and would not let go. The same mother , who was everything to you , in your life , you ( not literally) dumped in the old age home for her to fend for herself and you went away.
tell me , honestly, did they "go" from your life or ..... you "went" away from them ?

You know when to let go when you put things into perspective. Were you truly happy? Was she truly happy? Then you except the fact that it's over, hit the gym hard, and keep moving.

Just like a log floating in a river meets other log momentary and let it go silently in the night.

I don't think anyone or anything is "meant" to be. Each individual makes the decision whether someone is in their life or not. Barring death it's your choice.
