What is the best way to describe "scene" as in scene music or scene kids?

scene kids are usually interested in what is the "hottest" thing at the time, and "scene" music is music that will only be popular for a certain amount of time. you know how this "emo" thing is HUGE now....when the emo thing fades away...the scene kids will have already found something new to get into, listen to, and dress like.
