Have you ever seen a picture of Saddam and Osama together? Can you produce the link at least?

Is it just a big coincidence that Kuwait and Iraq possess vast oil reserves? Aren't the Coallition Forces helping stop the African Plight, because the African regimes are more 'humane' than the Iraqi regime, which means Africa can wait?

Has the Almighty US ARMY displayed an exemplary behavior with Iraqi civilians? (meaning they haven't raped, tortured or murdered innocents)

Is the newly elected Iraqi government a true democracy? Or are they Dubya's puppets?

Oh, so many questions unanswered......

Sadam Hussein's regime was working on and had used WMD on the Kurds and Iranians ...killing tens of thousands of them (that's a fact) he even admitted to have once had a WMD program. However, he claimed to have destroyed them all after the first gulf war. The UN did not believe him and sent teams of inspectors to search Iraq for the truth. He harassed, obstructed and thwarted the UN teams efforts every step of the way ... eventually expelling them from Iraq ... all the while claiming to have no WMD's.
What would any reasonable person think in light of Sadam's behavior? ... he was hiding his WMD ... that's what. In fact, it appears that he had actually destroyed them ( that is still not 100% certain), but continued to play a dangerous bluff that backfired on him ... he wanted to have his enemies believe that he still had WMD. That bluff was called and led to the invasion and current situation in Iraq. If he had allowed the weapons inspectors to do their job ... there would not have been an invasion.

Sadam did invade and occupy a sovergn nation ... his neighbor Kuwait. Tens of thousands of people died in that invasion. His troops looted and raped Kuwait before the allied coalition expelled Iraq.

He was involve in a many years war with his neighbor Iran ... a war that caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people.

Sadam had a nuclear weapons program in the 1980's ... the Israeli air force blew it up. He was also working on a super cannon that could strike his neighbors ... especially Israel. That was destroyed also.

He had a cousin nicknamed "Chemical Ali" (who is still uncaptured) who was in charge of his chemical weapons program and was responsible for supervising the gassing of the Kurds and Iranians.

Sadam was a brutal tyrant ... ruthless in his approach to leadership ... he had no qualms about murdering so many of his own people and his enemies.

Sadam did in fact distrust fundamental islamist ... especially Osama and Al Qaeda. He understood that they were a threat to his absolute dictatorship of Iraq. He had no place for them or any alliance.

War is hell ... atrocities occur ... they are bound to happen in any war. It is not an official or unofficial policy of the US military to condone dispicable acts like rape, torture, looting, etc. Those events that have come to light have been exposed. The accused are tried and punished when found guilty. The incidence of this type of brutal behavior by US soldiers is extremely low in Iraq.

The government in Iraq is about as close as the Iraqis can come to a democracy at this point in time. There are great sectarian differences. They are involved in a civil war ...euphemistically called sectarian strife. History will will tell us how this eventually plays out. It's likely that there will become 3 separate countries out of Iraq: a Shiite, a Kurd and a Sunni country. Iraq's neighbors: Iran and Turkey have repeatedly stated that they would never allow an independent country for the Kurds on their borders. That's another can of worms.

You're right ... there is very little oil in the African regions which are in turmoil, hence less attention and direct action unless there are known anti-US terrorist involved.

Why did he disregard 17 UN resolution all of which mentioned the use of force if he failed to prove he was disarmed .
Why did he kick out UN inspectors in 1998 knowing that this was a treaty violation and he was subject to military reprisals ?

I wonder why we should annihilate Iran.What did they do?We have been told that their leader is a monster, but how can we be sure.Does anyone of these folks speak the language I wonder?Anyway, Kilmeade's suggestion obviously did not play well with producers since the satellite feed was abruptly cut.And no wonder.If we resort to these tactics, we are no better than anyone.We should leave Iran alone because they will not be as passive as Iraq.

I don't know of any. I'm not in support of the war in Iraq however, your argument does not negate the fact that Saddam DID kill thousands of his own people. Is that not bad enough for you? Remember WW2. I'm not a big fan of George Bush and I think he did lie but I believe that the initial idea of going into Iraq was a noble cause. George Bush went in for the wrong reasons but you can't deny that taking out a relentless dictator was a positive thing.

How about the attack on the Kurds in his own country with chemical weapons? What, are you one of those people that think that he should have been left alone to continue his stranglehold on Iraq? Saddam Hussein has paid out thousands of dollars to families of Palestinians killed in fighting with Israel.
Relatives of at least one suicide attacker as well as other militants and civilians gathered in a hall in Gaza City to receive cheques.

"Iraq and Palestine are in one trench. Saddam is a hero," read a banner over a picture of the Iraqi leader and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat at the ceremony.

With war looming in the Middle East, Palestinian speakers condemned the United States and Israel, which dismissed the ceremony as support for terrorism.

One by one, at least 21 families came up to receive their cheques from the Palestinian Arab Liberation Front (PALF), a local pro-Iraq group.

A Hamas suicide bomber's family got $25,000 while the others - relatives of militants killed in fighting or civilians killed during Israeli military operations - all received $10,000 each.

Another banner in the hall described the cheques as the "blessings of Saddam Hussein" and PALF speakers extolled the Iraqi leader in fiery speeches.

"Saddam Hussein considers those who die in martyrdom attacks as people who have won the highest degree of martyrdom," said one.

The party estimated that Iraq had paid out $35m to Palestinian families since the current uprising began in September 2000.

Saddam's avowed support for the Palestinians, and his missile attacks on Israel during the Gulf War, have won him wide backing in the territories.

Israel condemned the Iraqi handouts as funding for terrorism.

"It shows that Saddam is involved in every activity that is terrorism and murderous and leads to instability in the Middle East," said Amira Oron, a spokeswoman for the Foreign Ministry.

However, families at this week's ceremony said the money would be used to rebuild homes destroyed by Israel and bring up orphaned children.

"Saddam supports the families of the martyrs, not terrorism," said Ahmed Sabah, 69, whose son was killed by an Israeli missile strike in December.

"It is a shame that Arabs stand silent as America prepares to occupy Iraq."

Israel blamed Mr Sabah's son Mustafa for bomb attacks on three Israeli tanks which killed seven soldiers in 2002.

Tahseen Maghani, whose Hamas militant son Karam was killed trying to infiltrate the Jewish settlement of Netzarim, said he would use the money to plant crops and build a house.

"These are tough times for Saddam but his kindness will help us a lot," he said.

"Saddam is the only one that has stood with us."

Sabri Salama, a relative of two Palestinian teenagers killed in an Israeli air strike on Gaza in January, said America was "the chief terrorist state".

Ibrahim Zanen, a PALF spokesman, said he hoped the ceremony would not be the last.
