A little carved goldfish on a necklace Señor Chavez gave me in Mexico when I was a toddler. He was a very old man and he'd been a wood carver his whole life so it was an amazing carving. He made the little fish just for me because I loved watching the big goldfish in the pond in our yard. I was told he had a special place in his heart for me because of my blue eyes and reddish blonde hair (he'd never seen someone with my coloring before).
I haven't seen it in about 15 years. I think it was accidentally thrown away in one of my many, many moves. At least I have photos of it - I wore it in portraits when I was little. I adored it.

My parents. My father never got to meet my kids and I miss my mom. Also, my 21 year old niece who died from alcoholism and her 17 year old brother who was murdered for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
