Do you have an eating disorder, this can cause loss of period, when you are are with a year or two after you first period you tend to be irregular. See a doctor.

Anything can delay a period. Being over weight, stressed or an unbalanced diet can cause you not to have a menstrual cycle. I would suggest going to the doctor. There are hundreds of things that can delay a period. To be on the safe side I would recommend you see a doctor. Good luck.

You could be anemic or underweight. Do you participate in sports? Family history of this?
You should set an appointment with an OBGYN (your mom could help with this). They will ask you some questions, do an exam and take some blood for testing.
I wouldn't wait to see the doctor. You need to find out the cause of this so it doesn't affect you later in life.

Ok steven she said she has never partaken in any sexual activities... How the heck did she get pregnant????!
Maybe you just don't get regular periods, Some people are just born like that, Some women don't even get periods at all but are still fine and fertile.

talk to ur mom about birth control pills
its normal to kinda skip when u first start
i may be a guy... but i have enough sisters to know haha
birth control helps keep ur period regular
try it
if u mom asks why u want on them or if u've been having sex, be honest and say know... she should already know that they help
but yeah. there may be something else wrong.
just try birth control for now
try to get yasmin if you can

sounds like your biological clock is still trying to get it together. is quite some time gap though. i would certainly go to see your gp as soon as, just to rule out any other underlying cause. they can also give you advice and in some cases help to get your period back on track. you may have to have a blood test (simple routine) as its been over six months. i would go for peace of mind as it obviously worries you.
best wishes!!
