I need help choosing a English topic.?

For my English class, I must write a position paper about a topic concerning why higher education(meaning college) is at risk. The paper must be four pages long. I really need help finding a topic that can be written purely on my on opinion. Have any suggestions?

A problem I see with higher education is they let anyone in and give incoming freshman all the money. So many of the females I go to college with are just there to get their MRS. While non-traditional students who have proven they are hard working and actually intend to use their degree do not get the same funding as the incoming freshman. College is not for everyone and should not be encouraged for everyone. So many people will never use there degree and they are the ones who get the most funding.

In my opinion, and I just graduated college in December, tuition is too expensive for the majority of people. We need degrees to be able to get a decent job outside of manual labor, yet the cost is so high. I was raised by my mom alone, and thankfully I earned scholarships or I would not have been able to go to a good college. I think the cost of tuition and books is outrageous and it is very disheartening to see others around me without degrees who are able to earn just as much if not way more than someone with a BA or Masters. The jobs that seem the most important like teachers, police, etc. get paid the least.

Sure, what they are getting at is really the loss of a liberal arts education. Instead of getting a general all around education, the trend is leaning towards technical school. In other words, you don't go to college anymore to read books, or learn about history and language. Those things aren't marketable skills. College is more about pre law, pre-med, business, engineering. The future is leaning towards deciding what career you want at 18 ie, car design, and just studying that and nothing else.
