Why do some people from India not consider people that are from the West Indies to be Indian too? I was told the reason why so many Indians are from the west Indies is due to slavery a long time ago. Indians were brought to the Carribean but some East Indians dont consider it the same type of Indian? Why? Maybe its their lack of knowledge on history .

They are completely different. When Columbus reached the Americas, he thought he reached India, and called the Native Americans Indians. He didn't realize that there was a completely different continent(s) (the Americas) between Europe and Asia when travelling west. The people in the West Indies are not ethnically Indian at all.
