No, but it did come by courier.

My friend who works in Manhattan for a private equity fund (and is smarter than anyone I know) has his Centurion card. We went out to dinner with him before we caught a Broadway show. The place was absolutely packed with no room without reservations. Suddenly, the manager introduces himself, gets us a choice booth, puts our order in the front of the queue WITHOUT anyone having to even say that he had the card. They just knew who he was. I'm not saying that Amex tracked him down, but I think he was recognized and it was amazing to see what the power of the Centurion did.

My friend is so understated, he never talks himself up, lets on that he's high powered, smart and rich. The funny thing is that my buddy has a baby face, so you've got these guys fawning over this geeky guy who looks like he's barely out of college.

So I asked him "how did you get that card". His answer, "well, sometimes at work we need to put some pretty weird stuff on the card... and it's tough trying to fund a few million dollars out of your own pocket". I almost choked on my fajitas.

I read somewhere that it arrives at your door just like any other mail, unless you have security bring mail from the box. Unfortunately I have not seen one.
