I think that you should name them with their own individual names. Similar names are cute in the beginning, but that will wear off when they want to establish their own identities. Just the same, I think you should avoid dressing them alike after the first year, just to let them be individuals.

Two different names trust me. Also give them each their own cakes on their birthdays. My twins often say they wish that they werent twins. It is hard enough being a twin and getting compared without having similar names. Also don't dress them the same all the time they need to be recognized as individuals.

I understand that children who are twins will have a need to be individuals since many think they are the same. Many people treat twins as if they are the same in personallity as well as in looks and think of them as a unit.
It gets frustrating got a twin who wants to be recognized for a uniqe talent or trait when they are constantly compared to their twin.
I would recomment naming your twins just as you would name any other child - make then unique and individuals.

Twins need to be recognized as too individual people. They are confused enough by others, especially if they are identical, and the parents dress them alike. In my opinion it is fine to start them with the same letter but not too similar or rhyming! My Grandfathers friends were Harvey and Harley and they hated it. I went to school with Mary and Carry and they too hated it. Just my two bits worth...... : )

I think you should name them different names because sometimes twins like to be their own person since they already feel the pressure of looking the same.

Just remember they are 2 seperate people. Twins are too often treated like a single person. I'd pick 2 names I really liked and not care if they matched.

You should name them differently, they more than likely will hate having similar names.

Not too similar. It's just too confusing. I would probably have the start with the same letter though.
