you could say "hey dad want to go out for a milkshake?" that way you'll be in public and he can't explode.

Well sit down with your father and tell him that you know that this is not the ideal situation and it was unplanned but regardless you are happy and want to make the best of the situation. If it is possible it would be better if your child had 2 married parents and Im sure it would ease the blow if you also announced that you are engaged to the father. Additionally, it would be good if you had some sort of plan for your and you baby's future(like for example if you know how you're going to support your child) mentioning that you have a secure future would would relax him a bit. Either way he is going to love your baby like crazy as soon as he sees it.

My dad would be shocked. Of course, I'm a 40 year old male.
I'd be like, "Daddy... I got some good news!" And then tell him how happy you are about it. If he gets mad he gets mad. He will come around eventually. 20 is plenty old enough.
Congrats and enjoy the best part of life - parenting!

firstly make sure your partner is there, you dont want your dad thinking hes abandoned you. Then sit your dad down and explain to him that you know its not the ideal situation but you are happy. It was an unplanned event (accident sounds wrong) but you are happy and you hope he can be too. If he gets upset give him time, state that you are thinking of getting married (if you are) once he sees your gorgeous baby if hes upset he should melt, most do. good luck. if you need to talk email me

What i did was buy a bib that says "I Love Grandpa" and put in a bag and gave it to him. When he figured it out, he was shocked then excited because now he has something laying in his house telling him he has a grandchild on the way that he doesnt want to miss out on. Best of Luck!

"Dad, I have some fantastic news! You're going to be a grandpa!" you never know, it might work... hope you get better suggestions than this, though... good luck honey. (but he'll love the baby once it's born. no matter what.)
